Marketing automation is nothing new. 


By definition, it means utilizing software and digital tools to automate repetitive marketing activities.


Marketing campaign management (social media posting, advertising platforms, and email marketing) and project management (project requests and workflows) are two of the most valuable areas for streamlining with automation.


Automating repetitive tasks improves both speed and quality and can seriously boost productivity. This allows your MVPs to spend more of their valuable time on being creative and discovering valuable new ideas and concepts.


Here are three of my favorite marketing automation trends for 2023:


  1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
    While not new, these technologies are evolving very rapidly now and are becoming accessible and cost effective in the commercial marketplace. There are AI-powered chatbots to interface with customers. AI powered content generators to help tell your story. AI powered sales and business forecasting is often faster and more accurate. You name it, there is (or will be) an AI application for it.
  2. Sustainable Technologies.A shift in consumer consciousness has been pushing consumer brands and companies to utilize technology and processes that reduce the depletion of natural resources. From electric vehicles to solar energy, to utilizing cloud-based services, sustainable technologies are quickly becoming the norm.
  3. The Metaverse (immersive customer experience).
    Formerly reserved for tech pioneers and data scientists, then embraced by gamers, the metaverse is expanding and beginning to encompass elements of the consumer marketplace. It is a virtual reality based offshoot of the internet that involves live people and a digital universe where brands can more fully engage with customers and build communities.
